WFRP Date is set at Toys N Things

DanversGM writes "Fantasy Flight has set Saturday Nov 14th as the date for the special Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay pre-release event at Toys N Things. The newest WFRP edition features a new storytelling system with 4 new rulebooks, over 30 dice, 30 different careers, and 300 cards.
"A Day Late, A Shilling Short" is a special adventure designed so players can explore the new system. Toys N Things will be running "A Day Late, A Shilling Short" on Saturday the 14th at 1pm and again at 5pm. Players can also check out the new books and other new game materials."

Overview
"A Deepwood Surprise" is the first in a projected campaign series of
Diskwars events. They will unfold in a storyline fashion, and results may
well have a direct bearing on future scenarios.

"Mennara Aflame" is a campaign of linked Diskwars events. They will
unfold in a storyline fashion, and results will have a bearing on
future scenarios. The first cycle of 4 scenarios uses only disks contained
in the "Revised" set. The purpose is to re-introduce players to the fun
of when Diskwars was brand new and these were all the disks that were available.
These scenarios are all deemed to take place in a somewhat concurrent fashion,
so there will be no immediate effect of victory upon the storyline. Future
cycles will add disks from expansion sets in the order of release.

In a stunning act of random causality, Don Lynch, who regularly runs Fantasy Flight Games events at Boston's Compleat Strategist, accidentally triggered a chain of events that has FFG working on a board game and CCG of George R. Huge Armada Game at GenCon!

Armada genius Mike Zebrowski is planning on casting the galaxy into interstellar conflict at GenCon this year, but only if you let him know you’ll be there!! The game will run on Saturday beginning at 12:30 pm. It will be divided into three four-hour slots, so people can join and leave the game at four-hour intervals, finally ending at 12:30 am. All disks will be provided (though you will customize your own fleets) so you’ll have plenty of everything you need, and Fantasy Flight is offering prizes for the winners of each of the three slots.

Strat Vortex Tournament Recap

Eight players tested their might over the swirling power of the Vortex this past Saturday. The tournament was played at the Compleat Strategist and refereed by Don Lynch, Fantasy Flight Games's Massachusetts Garrision Leader. Three rounds of Swiss-style competition allowed all participants to play throughout the tournament, which was sometimes brutal, sometimes nailbiting, but always good-spirited.
