Alright. Last night before going out to a New Year's party, I swapped the new server in for the old one. There was only one minor hiccup with the configuration, and that was solved in a couple minutes. The whole swap took about two hours, during which I posted an "upgrading the site" message. I hear some people are pissed, but I hope they'll be understanding now that the new hardware is in.
The job is not quite finished yet. I still have to salvage all the RAM, the power system, and the remaining hard disk from the old server so I can make this new one run even faster and get the RAID working. I hope to do that some time today. Sorry in advance for any inconvenience when I do that. |
